Travel with Rising Egypt on a special journey along the Nile. Step aboard an authentic dahabiya sailing boat and experience Egypt in a unique way. Discover the temples in a way that allows you to truly absorb their essence. Moving to the rhythm of the river, you have all the space to reconnect with yourself. You naturally unwind and enjoy the magic of Egypt. Together with a small group of like-minded travelers, you will share beautiful group moments and deep, meditative experiences. Are you ready for a journey that touches your soul?
What can you expect?
- With a sailboat on the Nile
After spending two days immersed in the rich heritage of Luxor, we travel by minibus to Aswan. There, we visit the beautiful Philae temple. Next, we go aboard from our dahabiya, reserved exclusively for our group. The friendly crew and delicious Egyptian cuisine immediately make us feel at home. For four nights, we enjoy the peace of the Nile, regularly going ashore to visit temples or tombs along the way.
- Visiting ancient temples and tombs
In Luxor, we immerse ourselves in the magic of ancient Egypt. We visit the imposing temples of Karnak and Luxor, pause at the mysterious Colossi of Memnon, and descend into the Valley of the Kings, where we let the tomb of Ay speak to us, among others. We also visit a few lesser-known gems.
In Aswan, the unique Philae Temple awaits us, dedicated to the goddess Isis—a powerful place and the starting point of our journey along the Nile. As the dahabiya glides gently over the water, we pass the impressive temples of Kom Ombo, the temple with two sanctuaries and Edfu, dedicated to the god Horus. We visit the tombs of El Selsila and, further out in the desert, discover a small, enchanting temple dedicated to the turquoise Hathor.
Every temple and tomb is a place of power, a site of initiation that speaks to us deeply. Everywhere, we take really time to feel and experience what these special places do to us. At one temple, your soul may resonate more strongly than at another, but every time, the deep respect for these sacred places brings you into surrender to something greater than yourself.
- Egyptological explanations
At each location, we are guided by Younes Azzam, who brings the Egyptological background to life with passion and expertise. His explanations are in English, but if desired, additional clarification in Dutch is always possible. There is a beautiful balance between in-depth information and the opportunity to experience each place in silence, allowing you to enjoy this special journey with both your mind and your heart.
- Meditation and yoga
On the boat, you naturally relax. We consciously take the time to connect as a group and create a supportive space together in which we can ‘rise like the rising sun’ and ‘open like the lotus flower’! In addition to sharing moments, there is also room for silence and meditation. During group meditations, we are supported by powerful sound healing circles, which deepen our experience, heal and expand us on a profound level. For those who wish, we start the day on the boat with yoga.
